This Imperial Gallic 'A' Helmet is based on a complete helmet found outside the fort at the Kops Plateau Nijmegen (Netherlands). An all-iron helmet with thick iron browguard and double tie-ring and stud fastenings. The single eyebrow decoration is a development from the earlier Port bei Nidau Gallic Celt helmet types. The helmet was found with Augustan period pottery sherds, a strigil and a circular shield boss with a flat flange typical of the type used on flat oval shields used by auxiliary soldiers. This helmet is fully wearable and perfect for reenactments, role-playing, costumes, and is a must have for collectors and historical enthusiasts. Due to the hand-made nature of this item, slight differences in size and finish can be expected, making it a truly unique one of a kind collector's piece.
